Rebecca Wait is an author and teacher. She grew up in the Oxfordshire countryside and studied English at Oxford University. She wrote her first novel, The View on the Way Down, the year after graduating, while working as a teaching assistant. After qualifying as a teacher, she spent more than a decade teaching English in London secondary schools while continuing to write novels.

Her third novel, Our Fathers, was a Waterstones thriller of the month, and a Guardian book of the year. Her fourth novel, Iā€™m Sorry You Feel That Way, was a book of the year for the Guardian, Times, BBC Culture, Express and Good Housekeeping, as well as being shortlisted for the Nota Bene Prize.

Rebecca has also taught creative writing courses for adults alongside her secondary school teaching.

She now lives in Buckinghamshire and writes full time.
